You will work closely with product management to take ideas and turn them into amazing user experiences. You love working in Figma, speaking with customers and getting feedback, and discussing concepts with engineering.

About the position

You will own the design elements of a set of Shop Circle products, from Front End elements to backend admin designs;
Work with the Product Manager to create product requirements for new features;
Use best design practices to ensure a high-quality user experience;
Periodically audit the existing backend and frontend designs to ensure that we have a high-quality user experience and that we meet accessibility guidelines;
Work with the front-end developers to ensure we have a high-quality shared library of assets;
Create mockups, wireframes and prototypes of new features;
Work with the developers to ensure that they are implementing the features to your design;
Lead brainstorming sessions with team members from other departments to gather ideas and needs when building out a feature;
Gather information from merchants, through surveys or interviews, to understand their wants and needs.

Job requirements

2 years + experience in Product Design;
2 years + experience with an eCommerce platform (Shopify, BigCommerce, WooCommerce);
Experience in all phases of the design process including user research, copywriting, wireframing, prototyping, visual design, interaction design and usability testing;
Previous experience with interface design software (Figma, InVision etc.);
Previous experience working in a scrum/agile environment;
A self-starter who can thrive in ambiguity with little direction;
A desire to communicate with current and former customers;
An ability to motivate. You listen before speaking and understand before providing solutions. You focus on the relationship and build trust easily;
A desire to collaborate. To deliver high-quality features as quickly as possible, you'll need to partner with many different people and departments;
A knack for the details, with an understanding of the big picture. In your role, the details matter, and help drive your team forward with a sense of direction and clarity;
Excellent communicator who feels comfortable working in a remote environment;
Tech savvy and feel comfortable working with a fast-growing tech start-up.
